Good afternoon, everyone! It is my great honor to stand here to give you this presentation. First let me introduce myself briefly, my name is Peng Hui, I am currently a junior student come from the Department of Ocean Science and Engineering. My major is port channel and coastal engineering. My hometown is Yi Yang in Hu Nan province. In my spare time, I like playing table tennis and badminton, I think exercise is also an investment. Also I like listening music and traveling, they are good ways to relax myself. Now let’s begin my presentation. In the following few minutes, I hope all of you can enjoy my speech.
My topic is “Is It Necessary to Buy a House before Getting Married”.
When we are preparing to get wed, one thing we should decide is where we will live after the wedding. Ideally, this should be taken care of before we get married so that we can settle down and start our married life more smoothly.
Should we rent a house with our companion or buy a new one? There’s really no right answer. There are no clear cut formulas to establish whether it is better to own a house during our marriage life. A lot of it depends on finance preparedness, the quality of our relationship with each other, and other things.
Today, getting married in China is not an easy thing. “No house, no marriage” has been very popular in the society.
According to the "Survey Report Chinese Marriage Status of 20xx" released on Dec 15, 20xx, about 70 percent of women said that housing, stable income and some savings were the main requirements for marriage. From the report, we can see that housing is on the top among the factors.
Personality and morals lay beyond the top three requirements. However “No house, no marriage” has been a phenomenon different from other countries.
Next, let’s take a look at the situation overseas.
In Japan, renting has been a custom for newly married young couples. Few can afford to purchase property. Up to 67.1 percent of young couples choose to rent, and merely 14.3 percent of the group buy a house for marriages. Generally speaking, most buyers are older than 40 in Japan.
In Europe, it is reported that there are many people who live in rented houses all their lives and they don’t feel it is a bad thing. In Berlin, 70 percent people choose to rent, only 30 percent adults choose to buy a house. Journalists have surveyed that the average age of Europeans to
buy their first house in Belgium is 41-year-old, in France 38 years old, in Germany 40 years old. Finally, they concluded that the average age is 40 years old.
For many Americans, housing troubles don't pose any obstacle to marriage. They often buy a house after the wedding, because more and more people are reconsidering their real estate problem, and going back to a more rational mode of consumption.
In my opinion,it is not necessary to buy a house before we get married. First, if we choose to buy a house, it will increase our economic burden, leading the constraint of our marriage life. Second, it will impose restrictions to the development of our career if we spend most of our salaries on mortgaging a house. Last but not least, we will feel guilt if our parent can’t enjoy a happy life in their later years because their saving were spent on buying a flat for us. Above all, young people should be free to enjoy being young, without the huge pressure of trying to buy houses.
That’s all! Thank you for your attention!

Think about what’s at stake. Everything you write, everything you say, every topic of curiosity, every stray thought, every impulsive purchase, every moment of frustration or weakness, every gripe or complaint, every secret shared in confidence.
In a world without digital privacy, even if you have done nothing wrong other than think differently, you begin to censor yourself. Not entirely at first. Just a little, bit by bit. To risk less, to hope less, to imagine less, to dare less, to create less, to try less, to talk less, to think less. The chilling effect of digital surveillance is profound, and it touches everything.
What a small, unimaginative world we would end up with. Not entirely at first. Just a little, bit by bit. Ironically, it’s the kind of environment that would have stopped Silicon Valley before it had even gotten started.
We deserve better. You deserve better.
If we believe that freedom means an environment where great ideas can take root, where they can grow and be nurtured without fear of irrational restrictions or burdens, then it’s our duty to change course, because your generation ought to have the same freedom to shape the future as the generation that came before.
Graduates, at the very least, learn from these mistakes. If you want to take credit, first, learn to take responsibility.

As the saying goes: "a man without ambition." A person without lofty ideal, it is impossible to make a difference.
From ancient times pangu separated heaven and earth to today's knowledge explosion, information revolution, and how many years, how many generations, how many healthyenterprise has a lofty ideal. Ideality is the power of we forge ahead, bold innovation, the ideal is the light of life, the ideal is the source of strength to overcome all difficulties...
A very early age I had the first ideal is to be a policewoman. The ideal of childhood now think of is ridiculous and childish, but it is the self is like their beautiful uniforms and the brave when arresting suspects.
Since fourth grade until now, I have a second ideal is to be a host, stand in my ideal stage to Dong Qing, like his famous, so I started a small stage, first in class nine, almost class meetings can see me, standing on the platform host class meeting. I would often watch on the name of the host or the host renda, learn their host program statements, expression and action. Through unremitting efforts, I learned a lot, let me show hosted by better. I really like the host program, can let the audience happy, also can let oneself happy. Now I'm in step by step to realize my ideal.
Ideal is an abyss, from the moment of jump, will force you to fight. Or, mirs, whirlwind; Or, stone sink deep bottom, no noise... And I will choose the former, I will work hard, to own ideal step by step forward! Zhou ji daqo
My future is not just a dream, the future is in my hands. I want to, I should take action, the own ideal hard work. I always not forget striving to realize his ideal.

There was a man who had seven sons, but he had no daughter, greatly though he longed for one. At last his wife told him that they could again expect a child and, sure enough, when it was born it was a baby girl. There was great rejoicing, but the child was weak and puny, so weak that it had to be christened at once. The father told one of the boys to go quickly to the spring and fetch christening water; the other six ran along with him, and because each of them wanted to be the first to dip the jug into the well, it fell in and sank.
So there they stood and didn't know what to do, and none of them dared go home. When they didn't come back their father got impatient and said:" I'll wager they've been playing some game again and forgotten all about it, the godless brats." He was afraid the little girl would have to die unbaptized, and in his rage he cried out:" I wish those boys would all turn into ravens." He'd scarcely spoken the words when he heard a whirring of wings in the air overhead, looked up and saw seven coal-black ravens flying away.

The search for truth became its core animating idea and the American Universities flourished over time to institutionalize and idealize that way of life. Also, in 1919, at the more local level, on this campus, the new year-long required course for Columbia freshman has launched call contemporary civilization.
Though today, we know C.C. is the Genesis of the famed curriculum, then it was nothing more than a bold experiment in higher education. The objective reflected in the course name was to apply learning and reason derived from classic texts to the problems facing society in the aftermath of a cataclysmic war. The idea was to double down on the academic mission and it has made a difference as generation after generation has attested to its value in creating an open mind and intellect.
Both of these century-old intellectual innovations arose from the same sensibility. Both assumed that the best side of human nature includes the desire to learn and to live by the truth and to acquire and to create knowledge. And while our natural negative instincts activated by our fears, greed and lust for power sometimes divert us from that quest. A life worth living will only follow from a determined effort to engage with ideas at the most profound levels, even those ideas we dislike and firmly believe to be in error.
This time, your time presents the conundrum this is above all a moment when we must reassert our commitment to open inquiry, to reason and to the sanctity of knowledge and understanding. As was the case a century ago, these pursuits are increasingly out of step with the currents of the broader world, making it all the more essential that we express our devotion to that endeavor.

Dear teachers, good afternoon!
I am Erica. I would like to tell you my own story.
During the National Day my family went out for dinner. We went downstairs by lift, but after 1 minute the lift stopped suddenly, so we were trapped in it.
“I am scared, Mum!” I shouted, and my younger sister also cried. Dad called 110 for help. The policewoman was very kind and said “take it easy, the firefighter will come in 10 minutes.”
At the same time Mum let me sing a song with my sister. And we felt better while singing the ABC song.
Five minutes later, the door was opened by the firefighter.
“Dad, look! firefighters!” I shouted excitedly.
“Don’t worry, you are safe now.” the firefighter said to me like a hero. The firefighter saved us and I was deeply touched.
Now I want to be a hero, because I want to help more people!
That’s my story, thanks for your time.
