she kindled a third match. again shot up the flame; and now she was sitting under a most beautiful christmas tree ,far larger, and far more prettily decked out, than the one she had seen last christmas eve through the glass doors of the rich merchant's house. hundreds of wax-tapers lighted up the green branches, and tiny painted figures, such as she had seen in the shop-windows, looked down from the tree upon her. the child stretched out her hands towards them in delight, and in that moment the lights of the match warm quenched; still, however, the christmas candles burned higher and higher， she beheld them beaming like stars in heaven; one of them fell, the lights streaming behind it like a long, fiery tail.
“now some one is dying,” said the little girl, softly, for she had been told by her old grandmother， the only person who had ever been kind to her, and who was now dead that whenever a star falls an immortal spirit returns to the god who gave it.
she struck yet another match against the wall; it flamed up, and surrounded by its light, appeared before her that same dear grandmother, gentle and loving as always, but bright and happy as she had never looked during her lifetime.

My name is .this evening i want to talk something about college life . it include four aspects study,relative ,friendship and love .the first thing i want to say is study. we all have dreams before we enter university,we dream that we can have much more free time and we can improve us according to our advantages ,so we studied hard at junior school and senior school .now we are here in linyi normal university but many of us have no smails on their faces because here is not the place we have been dreaming for. what i want to say is that you can enter a better university to start your heigher education if you studied hard here.so you must calm down and start to study. study is the first thing you must do at university because study can help you achieve you dream.
Now,i want to ask some of you a question: where you get your money from? who can answer my question? --------yes we get our money from our parents. this is the second thing i want to say : the relative .our parents paied us here , they give all the things they have so we must respect them and get on well with them ,they also need us just like we need them.apart from our parents we have many other relatives ,they also give us supports, we should respect them and get on well with them too. if we have no relatives we will have no power to study here.
When we start to study we meet many new faces which will live with us for four years we must make friends with them .just like the saying says friends play an important role in our life,if you have many fiends you will have less troublts in your life ,if you have no friends you will have troublts everwhere in your life,so do you want to have many friends? of course the answer is ‘yes’.this is the third thing i want to say :the friendship.
Love is the last thing i want to say.as far as i can see love is the last thing you do at uiversity.if you fall into the river you will never get out,this does greet harm to your body and your study.besides many people say that love will not give you the sense of sweetness during schoollife.so i do not support on-campus students start their love at university.
My deer students,our college life will be richfull if we have planes in our minds.to tell the truth we have little time to stay here our roads are in front .so everone let us start to run toward our roads we have in our mines and we will be the victor in the future!

首先，你应确信你已在发音技巧和语音方面下了很多功夫。否则，你将会闹出很多笑话。例如“我可以借一下你的自行车吗？”而你说成“我可以借一下你的后背吗？”“请递给我那个箱子”而由于你的错误发音，竟说成“请给我一个吻吧。”很显然，在这两个句子中你读错了“自行车”和“盒子”这两个词，而对方也就自然误解了你的意思。另外，语调的不同也可表达着不同的感情，举个例子：伦敦桥塌了！伦敦桥塌了！我的夫人！（声音高昂，表示高兴）伦敦桥塌了！伦敦桥塌了！我的`夫人！（声音低沉，表示悲伤）

I am grateful for the opportunity to deliver my speech here after 7-days’ preparation with my friend Jinly. Thanks to Jinly’s strong support in our work. I think it is my way of saying thank you to you that giving an excellent presentation to all my friends here.
The subject of our presentation is “YOUR DREAM & YOUR GOAL”. During the next 10 minutes, we’ll give you a brief explanation of these stuff at the best of our knowledge.
First of all, I’d like to spent 3 or 5 minutes on discussing about the dream. When we were 5, they asked us what we want to be when we grow up. We answered like superman, princess, or in my case, a sailor moon. When we were 10, again they asked and the answer was policemen, doctors and some other high-principled jobs. But unfortunately, we finally found our dreams unrealistic as we entered a not-so-good high school, did not-so-good school works and went to a not-so-good direction in our life. I guess, many of you have thought about changing your dreams, but finally felt at a loss again. Yep! We’re adults and they are waiting for a serious answer. Well, how about this? WHO THE HELL KNOWS! Dream is only a dream. It’s unnecessary for us to think over our dreams all day long. You know, dreams always change, and this is not the time to make difficult decisions. But what do dreams do? Why do we still have an urgent need of dreams?
Think about it: do you have had a time when you were full of happiness just because you have made an achievement that pushes you a bit to your dream? Do you have had a time when you insist on what you were doing even the tears keep falling from your eyes? That is the power from dreams! May I equate the faith and the dream here? As we all know, aims and dreams are far from each other to some extent but close to each other on the other hand. Just like the parabola and the number line in mathematics. But it is the dream that help us to map out our aim and work out plans one after another in our life. Just like what Howard Schultz, the founder of the Starbuck said, Dreams are like the stars----we never reach them, but like mariners, we chart our course by them. And I believe that if you have a dream and make efforts step by step, some of you may extremely finish the quantitative change on the way to success and reach the qualitative change!
I would like to finish my part by a tongue twister: Whether the weather be fine or whether the weather be not. Whether the weather be cold or whether the weather be hot. We'll weather the weather whether we like it or not. Whatever you dreams are and however difficult it is to realize them. Reach your aim step by step and I believe your dreams will extremely come into truth!

A man who lived in a block of apartments thought it was raining and put his head out the window to check. As he did so a glass eye fell into his hand.
He looked up to see where it came from in time to see a young woman looking down.
“Is this yours?” he asked.
She said, “Yes, could you bring it up?” and the man agreed.
On arrival she was profuse in her thanks and offered the man a drink. As she was very attractive he agreed. Shortly afterwards she said, “I'm about to have dinner. There's plenty. Would you like to join me?”
He readily accepted her offer and both enjoyed a lovely meal. As the evening was drawing to a close the lady said, “I've had a marvelous evening. Would you like to stay the night?”
The man hesitated then said, “Do you act like this with every man you meet?”
“No,” she replied, “Only those who catch my eye.”
