To sum up, Necessity of lifelong learning is mainly based on the following reasons:

二、学语法是为了让我们更好地了解英语的逻辑，使学英语达到事半功倍的效果。下面来谈谈语法的'学习。

2、有人说语法是英语学习中最枯燥的环节，但仔细看看，你会发现同中文有很多相通之处，如句子构成，主谓宾，词的运用，要注意的就是中英文元素排序不同。语法对于分析句子的意思帮助也是非常大的，尤其是超长的句子，有的时候一个句子就有三四行甚至占据整个段落。尝到了甜头，就有了学语法的动力了。

四、口语

Three mirrors reflect the way I learn English After I came back from the “21st century-Ericsson cup”7th national English Speaking competition with the award of the “Most Promising Speaker”, people kept asking me the same question over and over again. “How did you learn English, especially as a Non-English major?” Actually I believe that a hundred people would have a hundred of ways to learn English well. However, I would like to share my personal experience of English learning with those who have the enthusiasm for improve their English. Since I have set up three mirrors in my prepared speech in hoping that they would guide our young generation on the way to globalization, I would like to maintain three mirrors here to reflect how I learned English.

The first mirror, I assume, should reflect a steady foundation. This involves my first few years of English learning, which I consider as the key factor of all my achievements in the years to follow. At that time I entered the middle school attached to Xi’an Jiaoton University, I could only say my ABCs while others in my class could at least communicate in simple English. All the tales about the frightfulness of learning English then popped up in my mind and made me feel scared. Fortunately my first English teacher was very experienced in enlightening her students on English learning. She was a kind woman with a charming smile. But her homework assignments were not easy task: They required us to read after the tape for 20 times and recite the whole text. So it was quite natural that most of my classmates only recited the short essay within a short time and then went to play. But my fear of not being able to say a single word, made me sit down and immerse myself in what the teacher had asked me to do.

记忆力的好也可以帮助学习，但是死记硬背的方式实在是套古老了，也太死板了，再好的兴趣也会被消磨光。所以，可以用一种节省时间，增加兴趣，享受时间的方法。在老师留作业，抄单词或句子的时候，先抄一遍，再根据脑袋里"肯定"的答案在接着继续默写，这样就达到了节省时间着点了。还有在背课文的时候，有些同学们后觉得这些太多了，太难了，简直就是在谋财害命，但老师就是硬要我们被下来，太痛苦了！那么，在这个时候，你可以把被课文当做是在背诗，记歌词，背诗背着背着就顺了，记歌词记着记着就好像是自己在听喜爱的音乐一般，这也有了增加兴趣，享受时间和节省时间了。

第三步，自信：

My favourite season is spring.

Everything is very lively in the spring. The flowers are blooming, the trees are growing and the grass is turning green. I like lying on the grass and enjoy the sun shine in the park in the spring. We also can fly a kite, have a picnic, go on a trip or climb the mountain, but I don’t like to do those things, because they will make me feel tired. Some people like to go to the countryside, however I don’t think it is a good place to go for a rest. I don’t like the other season, because they are not very warm: summer is too hot, winter is too cold. While autumn is cool, it isn’t very beautiful.

Last year, I went to the Slender West Lake in Yang Zhou. First we took a boat to travel down the lake, we saw the Qiong flowers on the bank, and they were very beautiful. Then we visited the Five Kiosks Bridge, there were five kiosks on the bridge, and every kiosk has a long history. We sit in the kiosk and took some photos. Last we went to the Fishing Platform. Why do people call it ‘Fishing Platform’? Because the emperor called ‘Qian Long’ in Qing Dynasty visited it. We also fished in it. We had a good time in Yang Zhou.

Usually we use meat such as beef or mutton and some vegetables such as cabbage or carrots for filling.You may actually choose whatever you like to put into it. we must chop those things into small pieces.Then put some salt oil and other condiments into it and stir it evenly. When all these preparations are done we can start making dumplings. First put a spoonful of filling in the center of the wrapper. Then stick the two opposite sides together and then the rest. Don' t just cover the filling with the wrappers. The best shape of dumplings is that of a ship because when they are boiling in the pan they look like ships sailing in the sea. The smell can make your mouth water.

By reciting classic essays one can enrich their language as well as enlarge their vocabulary. As a non-English major, I like to set aside a certain period of time for English learning everyday, usually an hour or at least half an hour. 一、制定计划。要想学好一门语言，首先要一个切实可行的计划，用以指导自己的学习，古人说得好“凡事预则立，不预则废。”做事有计划就不会打乱仗，也不会感到盲从。

二、专心听课。课堂是获取知识的主要来源，上课是学生进解和掌握基础的基本技能并在此基础上发展认知能力的一个关键环节，这就要求同学们始终保持高度集中的注意力，力争在课内就把一节课的内容记住，当堂消化。

三、及时复习。知识贵在落实，课后及时复习能加深和巩固对新知识理解和记忆，系统在掌握新知识以达到灵活运用，即知识迁移的目的。

四、掌握正确的'记忆方法。英语是一门记忆很强的学科，要大量积累词汇。很多同学最烦记单词，总是抱怨记不住，以致于丧失了信心。这是因为你没有了解到记忆的规律，没有掌握记单词的技巧。现在我给大家介绍几种方法。

1。及时记忆法，要求上课时认真听讲，争取趁热打铁，当堂记住。

2。联想记忆法，如bridegroom和bride。有room的是新郎

3。分类记忆法，把单词分门别类，如动物、植物类。

4。感官记忆法也叫运动记忆法。尽可能发用多种感官，耳听、口读、

手写、眼看、心记等。

5。构词记忆法，通过分析词根、前缀、后缀、派生和合成等记忆单词。

6。情景记忆法，把某个单词放在一个句子或者一段话中去记忆。

7。比较记忆法，反义词、同义词、同音词。

8。拼读记忆法，读准单词的发音是记住单词的前提，拼读记忆首先要

求把单词读准确，充分认识单词的读音与拼写之间的关系。如enthusiastic

9。循环记忆法，任何先进的单词记忆法都必须进行反复记忆。学了可能会遗忘，为了防止遗忘，一定要不断发进行阶段性复习。可以把单词和重点句子写在长片上放在口袋里或贴在桌子上、放在枕头连随时记忆。有些单词不是你记不住，而是你重复的次数不够多。

五、培养良好的语感。什幺是语感？语感具有一听就清，一说就顺，一写就通，一读就懂的功能。那幺，怎样培养语感呢？

1。从听力训练开始，在听力方面，一是听课文录音带，去感知模仿形成正确的语音、语调，二是听英语广播、电视节目及原声电影等，三是认真对待我们平时的听力训练，要沉着、冷静、细心，抓关键词，瞄准下一个句子和题目。

2。朗读、背诵是培养语感的捷径。主要是多读课文及听力教材，要将一个单词读准，一个句子读顺，一篇文章读烂，平时朝读时要最大声、最快速、最清晰地读。通过诵读，同学们可对文章的语意、语法、语气、语调、节奏、重音了然于心。

3。要进行广泛阅读。阅读是吸收语言材料的最好途径，实践证明，学生阅读面越宽，语言实践越大，阅读理解能力便越强。只有通过读，才能够获得最大的实践量，才能享受到学习外语的真正甜头和学习的乐趣。阅读的数量多了，一些常用词汇、句式结构自然在脑子中形成了印象，也就逐渐形成了语感。现在我们每天至少应阅读一两篇文章。

4。多积累多写作是培养语感的必经之路。在平时写日记、周记，考试时尽量使用通过积累的高级词汇和句型，这样才能有效地提高写作水平。

六、要注重课本，排查要点，各个击破。这几年高考中都有课文中的原句子，同学们要善于发现隐藏在课文中的命题胚胎。

七、要持之以恒，孜孜不倦。俗话说“一日学，一日功”，“一日不学，十日空”。也就是要讲究一个“勤”字，做到天天读，天天背，天天练，天天总结，养成一种好习惯，这样你就离成功不远了。

八、要提高自己的应试素质，把平时的考试当作高考，把高考当作平时的考试。

九、相信自己，强烈的自信心和必胜的信念是我们最大限度地发挥水平的致胜法宝。我们每个人身上都有巨大的潜力有待开发，一定要珍惜时光，找准人生的奋斗目标，不断努力，最大限度开发你的潜力，你是最优秀的。

我上小学时，老师只教了二十六个字母。到了初中，英语非常差，在班级里是倒数。考试倒数，被英语老师批评，非常难过，但就是不知道怎么学，好像也没有人告诉我应该怎么学，或者人家告诉我应该怎么学，我也听不进去。浑浑噩噩到了初三，实在给逼地没有办法了，只好像很多人推荐的那样，背书，从初一的课本背起，一直背到初三的英语课本，中考也还考的不错。

到了高中，还是很迷茫。可能男生都不喜欢背书，实在不是背逼的万不得已，都不会去背书。好在我有看书，看报纸，看杂志的习惯，每天放学，只要一有时间，就到县图书馆的阅览室去看报纸，杂志。记不得是在高一还是高二，突然在报纸上看到一个正版，都是一个叫扶忠汗的台湾人写的英语学习的文章，他说，英语学习就是用英语。比如说，你学了一个THIS IS A的句型，那你就要马上把它用起来，THIS IS A BOOK。 THIS IS A DESK。 THIS IS A ROOM。 THIS IS A CHAIR。等等。用多了，用了一千遍，THIS IS A的这个句型也就会了。

我读了这篇文章，感觉非常有道理。一个句型，我用一千遍，不久会了吗？一个单词，我用一千遍，不久会了码？那怎么才能用一千遍呢？我想，对，阅读！阅读多了，不就一个句型用一千遍，一个单词用以前遍吗？

我就到图书馆的书库里找英语方面的书。可巧，我找到一本《英语学习》的合订本。里面有简单的文章，也有复杂的文章。我就从里面简单的有趣文章开始看起。简单的文章看完了，再看略微难一些的文章。记得有一篇很有趣的文章，但很难，生词很多，我就一个生词一个生词的查着看，看的脑子疼，大概整整花了两周时间才把这一篇文章看懂。就这样，一点点看下来，一本书看下来，考试的阅读理解和完型填空我就看的懂，做起来就不费劲了。

后来，高考因为英语是强项，就考了英语系。

到了大学，进了大学图书馆的外文书库，看到那么多英文书，高兴地简直要发疯。大学虽然有很多好老师，但也许自己自学自由自在惯了，课倒没有认真听多少，就是到图书馆里借书，看书，还书，再到图书馆借书，或者在图书馆的阅览室里，一呆就是一个上午，一个下午，一个晚上。

大一的时候，借书证一办下来，就去借了几本原版英文名著，但生词太多，实在看不懂，放在手里几个月，又还回去了。郁闷了一段时间，再一看，自己手里才发的《大学英语泛读教程》不也很好看，而且不难，不就很好吗？我就一口气把《泛读教程》看完了，再回头找几本简单的原版英文读物，看起来非常吃力，但拼命查英语词典，开始一天就看两页，还行，就继续往下看，慢慢地也就把一本JACK LONDON的WHITE FANG看完了。看完了第一本英文原著，长吁了一口气，哎，终于把一本真正的英文书看完了。

底下，越看越有趣，一发不可收拾，大学学英语就是自己找英文原著，开始都是找英语小说。大三的时候，看英文版的《战争与和平》，整整两个月，看的头都晕了。看完以后，又是一番感慨，这本1400多页的英文书都看下来了，再看别的英文书就不怕了。

后来，对国际政治感兴趣，就看国际政治方面的英文理论书，美国的历史，地理，文化方面的大学教科书。大学四年下来，我读的英文书码在一起，感觉要比我的人还高。不经意间，英语就通了。

现在回想，可以说，扶忠汗先生的一篇文章奠定了我的.英语学习的基础。我以后的英语基本上按照他说的英语学习就是用英语的思想去做的。现在想想也后怕。但再想想，偶然中有必然。如果自己不有意去找，又怎么可能遇到扶忠汗先生的好文章。

英语学习的起步阶段，总结前人的经验，站在前人的肩膀之上。然后指导一个合理的目标和计划，找到一个许多实践证明的成功的方法。有一个参照，再去努力，出现问题了，心里也有准备，对比一下，就知道问题是什么，如何解决，成功的可能性就要大许多。

对于后来的学习者，我个人感觉，你们的学习条件要比我当年的要好得多。特别是现在的网络非常发达，用GOOGLE可以，用BAIDU也可以，都可以找到很多英语学习的经验。有什么问题，直接把问题总结一下，写在GOOGLE或者BAIDU的搜索框里，一搜就会出来许多关于英语学习经验的结果。然后把搜索出来的网页一一打开。慢慢地，细细地看下来，尤其是现在的英语学习者的成功经验，要多看看，多想想。

Sometimes refusing others is the right thing to do. It can save ourselves, and them, a lot of trouble. In short, we cannot please everyone all the time. Refusing favors is a part of life.

Last week I went to Peking University and Tsinghua University where I was invited to deliver lectures on “learning English with passion”. I found out that all those students have something in common; they all have determinations to learn English well . That's thevery reason why I gave lectures at more than ten most prestigious universities with an attempt to help students who want to conquer English within the shortest time.

That’s true, having a good command of English is vitally significant and profound. Here I would like to give all my friends and students some advice for the future learning in terms of the experience I got from being a teacher for many language training schools and being interpreter for government as well as embassies. Being an interpreter is by no means easy, which needs to have a good command of listening, understanding or decoding and speaking. As soon as I hear the original voice from the speaker, meanwhile, I will decode or understand it by dividing the content of the voice into different segments, and use my short-term memory and if possible ,note-taking, to deliver the interpretation in the process of consecutive or simultaneous cases. Now , I would like to tell you how to speak good English.

3-D methods (Dialogue, Discussion and Debate) to improve your eloquence

Dialogue

Having authentic and polished oral English is every learner’s dream, however, many of my students who spent a lot of years, money and efforts to speak this language well but failed to be able to communicate and speak out, the reason to which might be mainly confidence and methods. I notice that many students do well in speaking when conducting a prepared speech or presentation in class. But speaking English fluently is not just about making presentations and giving speeches. It is about expressing your ideas and insight on the most mundane of things around you. I still remember when I first landed on the soil of Beijing 5 years ago; I could not communicate with my friends and even felt uneasy when going out with them because I did not have the confidence to start a conversation with my Mandarin. It’s the same to the English learners who have no courage to start a topic and face an awkward silence after the initial greeting was given because they don't know what to talk about and are not confident of putting something across correctly, thus the conversation comes to end.

The ability to make dialogues is very important in social communication. Topics for casual conversation could include the weather, education, music, current affairs; hobbies, travel, etc. Do not always ask foreigner “what is your name and how is your job” when you want to find one to practice your English with. Before going to English Corner, please read up on your area of interest and try framing sentences expressing your opinions. Talk about it with someone close to you or someone’s English level is higher than yours, so you can check for your language accuracy and fluency.You’d better to grasp regularly used ways of small talk, and you will be able to initiate speaking more confidently. If you can break this barrier and speak out with passion and confidence, you can take your first step into the realm of English speaking and become a public speaker in the future.

Discussion and Debate

I always enlighten my students that your language ability and academic achievements are very imperative and important, but the most important of all, it’s your eloquence to communicate in the personal relationships. Elite may not have eloquence, but an eloquent person must be an elite. So the best way to drill your speaking abilities is to discuss and debate. When I was a junior, I always raised discussions with my classmate in my dorm, questions like “environmental protection, cohabitation, 20xx Olympics, postgraduate exams and so on. After everyone aired his opinions, then we conducted debate to argue, to express ideas to convince the other. And I gradually build up on my own repertoire of conversational topics and start using them whenever I get a chance; subsequently I have good command of English, and won a lot of awards in English speech contest and debate. Hence, it’s also effective for you, my beloved friends or students, to have a try to use your language to discuss and debate.

Other methods

Many students do want to improve their English by all means. It’s self-evident that all of us like taking down notes when we are listening to the lectures given by teachers at school. But it’s not a correct way to speak good language. Can you learn swimming by standing at the edge of the pool and taking down the words spoken by the coach? You have to take the plunge, right? I seldom took notes when I was given lessons, but I would memorize them with my mouth, my mind and my ears. There is just one case I will take notes when I am doing my job as an interpreter for the Beijing municipal government and embassy. I still remember when I was interpreting for the ambassador from the Philippines, at which moment she was delivering the speech about 10 minutes at the Great Wall international conference. Hadn’t I taken the notice from the speaker, I don’t think I would have interpreted for her and won the applause from the officials. It is the same with language. Unless you use the language everyday, you will never know how good you are at it. Ask your friends who are good at English to help. Try to speak it as much as possible, and let them interrupt you whenever you make mistakes and ask them to correct you. Do not feel embarrassed to make mistakes, for that is the only way you will learn. Enjoy losing face and enjoy making mistakes because that is the way how the process of acquiring fluency a language occurs. Everyone may have made a lot of mistakes before getting a good grasp of mother tongue. The only difference now is that you are conscious of the mistakes. So ,do not be afraid of making mistakes.

Attitude that counts the most

If you do want to learn something well, you are supposed to have confidence and passion. I love playing piano , basketball and learning as well as being a teacher, to which I devote my whole interest , confidence and passion no matter how many mistakes I will encounter, how helpless , how hopeless and how far away for me to reach my final goal. I will never stop fighting for the betterment and improvement of myself and to be an all-grounded person equipped with knowledge and clear mindset. And that is why I hope all of you can be confident and passionate for what you have done and what you will be doing.

Finally, I want to say to my students and English lovers. Try to be confident and passionate in the journey of study and life, all you need is a will to learn and the initiative to begin. That done, it is simply a matter of time and effort!

首先，什么是英语学习？所有语言，都是两部分组成，用专业术语来说就是语言输入和语言输出，听读就是输入，说写就是输出。在中国，初高中的英语学习，其实都没有涉及到英语的太多输出，主要还停留在输入阶段，考试里的体现就是阅读完型为大，写作是小。因为很简单，作为第二语言，这个鸿沟不是那么容易就跨过去的。先打基础，再发展。所以得成立中国，再说改革开放。

我认为，初高中的英语学习就是两部分，一个叫语感培养，一个叫语境还原。这并不是我乱编的，是很多老师每天在说的。老师总说培养起语感了，就会做题就能得高分。这个说法实际上有很大的误区。我想把这个误区给纠正一下，把这个概念发展到了语境这个问题。到底什么是语感和语境呢？来看几个简单的例子：

Heis a man. /He is being a man. /He hasbeen a man for years. /He was a man. /He will be a man.

这五句话非常简单，都是初中的知识点。这五句话非常有趣，只改变了动词的时态，五句话就表达了五种不同的意思。解释五句话。其实这个例子，就体现了一个问题，每句话的产生，一定有一个语言背景，直白地说，就是说话的背景，说话人当时所处的环境。有一个笑话，说四川人老用tmd,到北方上学了，很多同学随口就带tmd,别人就不理解了，说四川人习惯不好，脏话连篇，素质低。这是真的吗？其实不然，tmd很多时候只是四川人的一句口头禅，它可以表达情绪的起伏变化，高兴了说一句"这tmd",不开心了说一句"这tmd",骂人了"这tmd",夸人也是"这tmd".语言就是这样，换个场景，语言本身的'意思就变了，这就叫语境。

好了，说了这么多，我们来说怎么学。又听例子：

There is astudent in the classroom.

There is thestudent in the classroom.

两句话比较完，只有一个冠词的差别，但是意思缺天差地别。第一句是说"教室里有一个学生",而第二句是"那就是教室里的那个学生".一个a一个the引起了句子的巨大变化，学过英语的学生都应该知道这两个词都是冠词，a、an叫不定冠词，the叫定冠词。什么叫定，什么又是不定呢？定冠词直白地说就是，指代特定事物，语法书上最常写的一个词叫特指。那么ok了，不定冠词加了个不字，就是否定定的意思，就是不特指，不搞特殊性，泛泛地指，a、an又可以表一个，所以就是随便的一个。搞定！那么所有的a、an、the你都有数了，特别，还是不特别。A student不特别，随便的一个，the student特别，必须是那一个，到底是哪一个，教室里的那一个。既然有教室里的那一个了，说明什么，前文肯定有教室，肯定说过这个学生。搞定！一段话就这样被你还原了。这样的学习，才是高效的，是有效的。为什么？因为你学会了举一反三，从概念推句意，还能从句意推文意了。

可惜的是，这样的学生并不多，很多学生并不懂得如何去学习。英语一共十种词，名、动、代、冠、形、副、感叹、数、连、介，每种词的概念你都了解了，这是必要的，再者概念里面就会解释如何应用，然后就是把所有的词放在句子里面，理解句子，加入语法句法，全部合理以后，就是作者的小心思了。

学习应该是这样，一步步学习和理解，再应用。我个人很不喜欢死记硬背，也不会死记硬背，所以我有限的w多的词汇量，都是靠应用理解得来的，句子更是，我在大一阶段认真读完了那本绿皮的薄冰英语语法，然后通过平时的听说读写，去应用，现在我能告诉你任何一句话的语法变化，如何引申推导，文字背后的意思。这，就是高效的学习。我并不是一个非常优秀的学习者，我没有进入北大清华，没有进入常青藤剑桥牛津，我不特殊。我可以做到，同学们一样可以做到。只要你有着想知道为什么的渴望，就一定能走上宽广的道路去求得答案！
