Do you feel sorry for the animals that are killed by the millions every day?

Do we really need to kill animals?

Let us now think of the reasons for using dead animals. People often use animals for food, make-up, medicine and especially for the clothes. Fur coats are definitely a luxury. Yes, they are warm but really they are mostly a symbol of wealth. Do you know how much a mink coat cost?

A report said in an open letter published recently, a Dutch animal-rights group has asked their much-loved Queen to stop wearing fur. The Group pointed out that making clothing from fur represents cruelty to animals. “ Fur belongs to animals, not to human beings.”

Nowadays a lot of greedy people hunt and kill wild animals and birds, so as to make money by selling their hides at high prices. This kind of killing should be stopped and seriously punished. If we don't take actions to protect the wild animals and birds, they will soon disappear from the globe. Man will one day find himself a very lonely creature on earth indeed.

Until such a day, when we finally realized that we no longer have these friends or neighbors, what are we human beings going to say? Sorry? No, it is too late to say sorry to them.

Ladies and Gentlemen, please consider what I have said to you this afternoon. Think carefully on whether we really need to use animals for our pleasure if you have come to the conclusion that we are wrong. It is a commonplace among moralists that you cannot get happiness by pursuing it. This is only true if you pursue it unwisely. If you pursue it by means of drink, you are forgetting the hangover. Epicurus pursued it by living only in congenial society and eating only dry bread, supplemented by a little cheese on feast days. His method proved successful in his case, but he was a valetudinarian, and most people would need something more vigorous. For most people, the pursuit of happiness, unless supplemented in various ways, is too abstract and theoretical to be adequate as a personal rule of life. But I think that whatever personal rule of life you may choose it should not, except in rare and heroic cases, be incompatible with happiness. If you look around at the men and women whom you can call happy, you will see that they all have certain things in common.

The most important of these things is an activity which at most gradually builds up something that you are glad to see coming into existence. Women who take an instinctive pleasure in their children can get this kind of satisfaction out of bringing up a family. Artists and authors and men of science get happiness in this way if their own work seems good to them. But there are many humbler forms of the same kind of pleasure. Many men who spend their working life in the city devote their weekends to voluntary and unremunerated toil in their gardens, and when the spring comes, they experience all the joys of having created beauty. The whole subject of happiness has, in my opinion, been treated too solemnly.

It had been thought that man cannot be happy without a theory of life or a religion. Perhaps those who have been rendered unhappy by a bad theory may need a better theory to help them to recover, just as you may need a tonic when you have been ill. But when things are normal a man should be healthy without a tonic and happy without a theory. It is the simple things that really matter. If a man delights in his wife and children, has success in work, and finds pleasure in the alternation of day and night, spring and autumn, he will be happy whatever his philosophy may be. If, on the other hand, he finds his wife fateful, his children’s noise unendurable, and the office a nightmare; if in the daytime he longs for night, and at night sighs for the light of day, then what he needs is not a new philosophy but a new regimen--a different diet, or more exercise, or what not. Man is an animal, and his happiness depends on his physiology more than he likes to think. This is a humble conclusion, but I cannot make myself disbelieve it. Unhappy businessmen, I am convinced, would increase their happiness more by walking six miles every day than by any conceivable change of philosophy.

man’s life is a proceof growing up, actually i’m standing here is a growth. if a person’s life must constituted by various choices, then i grow up along with these choices. once i hope i can study in a college in future, however that’s passed, as you know i come here, now i wonder what the future holds for me.

3 my definition of success

“once upon a time， there was a king who had a daughter as beautiful as a blooming rose. to all the suitors who came to the king's palace to ask for the hand of the princess, the old king assigned three tasks to be accomplished, each next to impossible. one day, into the king's palace came a handsome young prince..." well, you know the rest. the three tasks may be different in different versions, but the main plot is always the same, with the prince claiming the princess's hand triumphantly.

and the ending is always the same, finishing with the line "and they live happily every after."

why aren't we tired of something so fanciful, so unrealistic, and, i would say, so unimaginative? how can a story like that endure generations of repetition`? because, i think, it is a typical succestory. it is highly philosophical and symbolic. by implication, we see a 4-step definition of success: 1 ) a goal to be set. as represented by the beautiful princess; 2 ) challenges to be met, as represented by the three tasks; 3 ) the proceof surmounting difficulties, as represented by the ordeals the youth goes through; and 4 ) the reward of success, as represented by the happy marriage.

the story not only caters to everyone's inward yearning for success, but also emphasizes the inseparability of the proceand the result. the reward of succewill be much amplified if the path leading towards it is treacherous, and vice versa. if a person inherits his father's millions and leads an easy life, he is not a successful person even in material terms, because there are no difficulties involved in his achieving affluence. the term "success", to be sure. will not sit still for easy definition. but as i understand it, the true meaning of succeentails a combination of both the proceand the satisfactory result of an endeavor. to clarify my view, let me give another analogy.

65 years ago, James lived in Qingdao. Then he was only 5 years old. He often visited the Aquarium and was fascinated by a creature on display there, which he thought was a dragon. He was afraid of its sharp teeth and wanted one to keep as a treasure.

He kept the tooth for the next 65 years, but the feeling of guilt at having stolen it was there in the background all through his life. It was always on his conscience, and the feeling intensified as he became older. Finally he decided to put right his childish error. In 20xx, he visited Qingdao and returned it to the Aquarium with his sincere apologies. He received a warm welcome.

When James visited Qingdao, I accompanied him all the time and reported on his visit. I was deeply touched by his honesty. It has taught me a lot. I think to err is human. The important thing is to have the courage to admit and correct one’s error.

首先，感谢各位领导的关心和帮助，感谢李平英、赖玲、龚丽三位备课组长的支持，感谢初中英语组全体姐妹的凝心聚力。正是有了以上这些条件和基石，教研组工作才得以顺利地开展和推进。我们本学期的工作大致可以归纳为以下几个板块。

一、积极参与完成各级各类的工作任务。

中美学校交流活动，市优秀论文、课件比赛，高新区九年级英语复习研讨会、八年级教学研讨会，高新区英语微格课比赛等，组内老师积极参与，圆满完成任务并取得良好效果。每当有类似活动的时候，老师们都会主动地调课，尽量参加。八年级的教学研讨会，七年级的老师也主动去。微格课比赛，刘献慧老师参赛，陪赛的老师们早早地到达，占据最佳位置，录像、做笔记等。特别值得一提的是刘学真老师。她是我们组的“大姐”，是自贡市骨干教师，并已是高级职称，但她非常谦虚，对待工作仍然非常积极、主动，这让我备受鼓舞。

二、备课组同课异构活动

本学期，教研组公开课开课率达到100%。除张泽辉老师产假以外，其余老师全部参与公开课。以往的公开课都是老师们自己选内容来上，往往都会选自己擅长的，好上的部分。而且每个老师的内容不一样，相处几年，大家都熟悉了，似乎都对这种方式疲惫了。而本学期，开学之初，张主任要求教研组先自己上报公开课教师名单，我的第一反应是全体老师都上。但怎么上？如果乱七八糟，不成系统，大家也不会那么地重视，上了可能意义不大。想到之前参加了几次市级初中英语同课异构活动，感触颇深。所以就想尝试一下。九年级针对中考复习专题，八年级针对阅读课专题，七年级针对听说课专题开展了备课组的同课异构。备课组的老师集中在一个半天，上同一个内容，大家一下就重视起来了。最开头我还有点担心有的老师不接受，但事实证明我多虑了。我把这个想法和决定告诉老师们的时候，大家都很支持。特别是七年级和八年级，效果特别好。老师们从教学设计、课件制作、课堂组织都精心设计、打磨，有的老师提前把课件拿出来跟别的年级的老师讨论，有的老师在教案上写下了自己要说的每一句话，每一个环节的时间，完全就像对待市区级公开课那样。听课的老师也更认真了。听完课，大家都是马上提出意见和建议。这次的同课异构，让我眼前一亮。我自己学到了很多，也见证了老师们的进步和成长，看到了学生的变化。

三、两校区携手课题研究

课题研究一直是我们教研组的短板。目前为止，五年的时间，关于英语专业方面的课题，我们组只有两个市级微型课题（分获二等奖和三等奖）。一直想做课题，也知道课题研究和教育教学其实是互相促进的关系，是非常有利于教育教学的开展的，但苦于自身水平的限制，一直没有清晰的思路。开学后不久的一天下午，我在办公室，鼓起勇气联系了教科所初中英语教研员刘老师，想向她寻求帮助和指导。没想到却意外争取到了一个省级子课题的机会。这让我十分欣喜。最终，在刘老师的指导下，我们和本部初中英语教研组一起开展了这个课题。从课题的具体选题、申报、确立、分工到开题报告的撰写，我们两校区教研组一起开会5次，大家都是摸着石头过河，查资料，网上培训，共享资源。每次开会前我的'脑子都是蒙的，但开完会似乎一下就清醒了，思路就清晰了。看起来大家都不懂课题，但聚在一起过后，发现问题总能一个一个地解决。我想，不管这个子课题对于我们的职称有没有意义，有多大意义，至少，我们争取到了一个非常好的学习机会。相信通过这个课题，我们会在课题研究方面收获更多，对于以后其他课题的开展也非常有指导意义，同时，两校区老师们的凝聚力会更强。

以上就是本学期我们教研组的工作情况汇报。普普通通却实实在在。工作中也还有许多不足，老师们（包括我）仍有许多困惑。我觉得最大的困惑就是感觉时间不够，疲惫。其实本学期还有一些事情想做而没有做成。所以，如何更高效的解决教育教学的实际问题，让老师们解放出来，多点时间搞教研，以教研促教学，或者更好地把教学和教研融合起来，这将是我们下一步努力的方向。我们不知道实现这个目标要多久，但我们会一直努力前行。当然，我们也期望继续得到各位领导和同仁的指导和帮助。我的汇报到此结束，谢谢大家！

It is a commonplace among moralists that you cannot get happiness by pursuing it. This is only true if you pursue it unwisely. For most people, the pursuit of happiness, unless supplemented in various ways, is too abstract and theoretical to be adequate as a personal rule of life. But I think that whatever personal rule of life you may choose it should not, except in rare and heroic cases, be incompatible with happiness. If you look around at the men and women whom you can call happy, you will see that they all have certain things in common.

The most important of these things is an activity which at most gradually builds up something that you are glad to see coming into existence. Women who take an instinctive pleasure in their children can get this kind of satisfaction out of bringing up a family. Artists and authors and men of science get happiness in this way if their own work seems good to them. But there are many humbler forms of the same kind of pleasure. Many men who spend their working life in the city devote their weekends to voluntary and unremunerated toil in their gardens, and when the spring comes, they experience all the joys of having created beauty. The whole subject of happiness has, in my opinion, been treated too solemnly.

It had been thought that man cannot be happy without a theory of life or a religion. Perhaps those who have been rendered unhappy by a bad theory may need a better theory to help them to recover, just as you may need a tonic when you have been ill. But when things are normal a man should be healthy without a tonic and happy without a theory. It is the simple things that really matter. If a man delights in his wife and children, has success in work, and finds pleasure in the alternation of day and night, spring and autumn, he will be happy whatever his philosophy may be. If, on the other hand, he finds his wife fateful, his children’s noise unendurable, and the office a nightmare; if in the daytime he longs for night, and at night sighs for the light of day, then what he needs is not a new philosophy but a new regimen--a different diet, or more exercise, or what not. Man is an animal, and his happiness depends on his physiology more than he likes to think. This is a humble conclusion, but I cannot make myself disbelieve it. Unhappy businessmen, I am convinced, would increase their happiness more by walking six miles every day than by any conceivable change of philosophy.

二、构建和谐高效课堂

现在正处于应试教育向素质教育转轨时期，既要求减轻负担，又要求提高教育质量，这就要求必须在课堂上下功夫，提高课堂效率:

1、认真备课。

大家都知道，备好课是上好课的前提，备课包括备课标、备教材、备学生、备教法，备学法。教师要根据课程标准要求，认真钻研教材，借助有关资料，了解、分析和掌握学生学习的态度、方法、能力和学习中存在的困难；选择最佳教学策略，确立合理的课堂教学模式，制定具体的教学环节，达到教学过程的最优化组合，有利于实现学生当堂掌握知识。看课程标标使我明白了课程的总目标，也深刻的理解了英语课程的工具性与人文性的统一，明白了英语教学在培养学生们初步的综合语言运用能力的基础上，还肩负着促进心智成熟，提高综合人文素养的重任，为教学的设计指明了方向。备教材，上课前翻阅各种材料、教师用书、学习资料及以往的相应试题，对于哪些是重点难点，哪些知识点扩展到什么程度，会以什么形式出题，做到心中有数。备学生，就是要了解学生的年龄特点、接受能力、知识储备情况，这样可以避免起点太高，学生听不懂，或起点太低，学生感到无聊的情况。备教法。每一级每个班学生特点各不相同，所以要注重仔细研究学生，采取适合学生的方法导入新课，用学生易于掌握的方法讲解新知，用学生感兴趣的方法组织课堂活动。

2、用激情带动学生，焕发课堂活力。

我要求自己在备好课的基础上，每节课都满怀热情地走进教室，哪怕身体不适、满心烦恼，在站上讲台，面向学生的那一刻，我都会面带笑容，因为快乐的情绪可以传染，如果你把快乐的情绪、积极地心态传染给学生，他的学习效率可能会成倍增长。

3、精讲多练，提高课堂效率。

初中生的注意力集中时间只能持续十五到二十分钟。如果仍然是“一张嘴，一支笔，从课首讲到课尾。”的.教学模式，就会出现“老师讲得天花乱坠，学生听得昏昏欲睡”的现象。新课程理念要求我们重视学生在课堂上的主体地位，少讲多练。少讲并不意味着粗略讲解，一带而过。初中生的接受能力还是有限，对于重难点的知识，根据学生特点细致的讲解，多举例，多操练，讲一点，练一点，讲练结合，让大多数学生都能跟上，参与活动。讲得太粗太快，学生跟不上，学不会，久而久之，就会慢慢失去学习兴趣。

4、 教法灵活，降低学习难度。

英语学科知识点多而杂，致使部分学生因记不住而失去兴趣。我会经常用各种灵活的活动帮助他们记忆，使学生轻松的掌握知识，提高兴趣。比如在初一教音标时，我用一个小故事把十二个单元音音素连起来，易于他们记忆，还有二十一个辅音字母的发音我也编了与发音相匹的动作帮助他们记忆。学习词汇eye时，用联想法可以帮助他们记忆，也可用谐音教学door，告诉学生门是用来防盗的，所

三、经常查缺补漏，及时抓弱补偏

在提高课堂效率的基础上，还要指导、督促学生搞好课外复习，防止知识的遗忘，并经常进行检查测试，多批多改，及时发现问题，解决问题。对于存在的问题，要有针对性的进行训练，并在下一步的教学中继续加以渗透，穿插复习。对于存在问题的学生，耐心讲解，明确要求，基础知识，跟踪检查，人人过关。组织各小组互相检查所学基础知识，单词句型的听写背诵，用分数做好记录，一周一统记，对背的好的同学及时评价鼓励，对学困生先要做思想工作，多用激励性语言，调动其学习积极性。善于发现他们的每一点进步，及时进行表扬鼓励，肯定其成绩，提出进一步要求，引导他们争取更大的进步。班里一名学生，总成绩在班里十名左右，是升学的边缘生。我一看他的成绩，数理化很好，英语只有伍十几分，于是我找他谈话，给他分析了升学情况和他的现实情况，告诉他：“你只要把英语提上一点点，哪怕只考六十几分，你就有把握考上

高中，这一年，你应该在保持数理化的优势的基础上，向英语方面倾斜一下，多下点功夫，虽然你基础太差，但我向你保证，只要你这一年按我说的一步步做好，明年中考，你的成绩一定会有很大的进步”。他真的很信任我，每天很努力地学，一开始他默十个单词能错九个，我经常鼓励他，教给他发音规律、记单词的方法，他的词汇量慢慢多了起来。学短语句子时，他的困难就更大了，毕竟基础太差，他一个完整的句子也写不出来，看到他沮丧的样子，我一次次地鼓励他，并给他缩小范围，让他背最重点的，并在学习方法上给予指导，他就很高兴的学着。月考考试结束了，他的成绩有一点点起色，我看他很沮丧，又想放弃的样子，就又找他谈：“你只努力了两个月的时间，而其他同学是积累了两年，两个月想补上年的知识，那是不可能的。所以，你的努力现在不能马上见效，只要你不放弃，持之以恒，坚持到底，期末考试就会有惊喜的”。他又重新燃起了希望，艰难地努力着。每当他有一点点进步，我就及时地表扬了他，向他提出了进一步要求。他现在已经有了信心，学习劲头更足了。如果对学困生多一些鼓励，多一份耐心，多几次辅导，相信总有一天，他们会有进步的，哪怕只有一点点，也是成功。

四 对教师的理解

（1）教师首先是教育者，其次才是教学者。

（2）教师要自我发展。北京的培训真正让我了解了人外有人，天外有天的道理。无论是大学教授还是一线教师，都即是理论专家，又是实践高手。他们的秘诀就是要与时俱进，要与学生同步。北京四中李俊和老师已到退休年龄还每天写反思，听英文广播，每周看一本与教学有关的书籍。

（3）教师要合作发展。靠教师一人的力量很难解决一些教学中的实际困难。一个学校优异的成绩背后一定有一个团结合作和具有科研创新精神的团队。单打独斗无法创造一个学科的辉煌。

我想教育教学需要“众人划桨开大船”。你一个经验，我一个经验，就是两个经验；你一个方法，我一个方法，就是两个方法。教育资源需要共享，教学经验需要交流，教学方法需要互学。在教学中，教研组成员如果一起探讨教学困惑，教学方法，新的教学理念，我们一定能在提高自己教学能力、自身素质的同时，共同去打造我校高效教学的新局面。

As you can see on TV, when a sandstorm comes, the wind blows strongly with dust and sand. Sometimes trees are even broken down in half, and little birds cannot find their homes. Sometimes clouds of dust blur the vision, and little kids cannot find their ways. It's like the end of the world.

When a sandstorm occurs, our classroom is filled with dust and sand. My poor teachers! They've breathed in enough chalk-powder. Now, they have to take in much dust. My poor fellow classmates! They told me they were almost dying.

We love beautiful spring. We cherish bright sunshine. But sandstorms destroy all the lovely things. Yet we know it is Mother Nature's revenge on what we have done to her. In order to see blue sky and sunny spring again, we should plant more trees and more grass to protect the environment. And it is not too late if we start right now.

3 My Definition of Success

“Once upon a time, there was a king who had a daughter as beautiful as a blooming rose. The three tasks may be different in different versions, but the main plot is always the same, with the prince claiming the princess's hand triumphantly.

Why aren't we tired of something so fanciful, so unrealistic, and, I would say, so unimaginative? How can a story like that endure generations of repetition`? Because, I think, it is a typical success story. It is highly philosophical and symbolic. By implication, we see a 4-step definition of success: 1 ) a goal to be set. as represented by the beautiful princess; 2 ) challenges to be met, as represented by the three tasks; 3 ) the process of surmounting difficulties, as represented by the ordeals the youth goes through; and 4 ) the reward of success, as represented by the happy marriage.

The story not only caters to everyone's inward yearning for success, but also emphasizes the inseparability of the process and the result. The reward of success will be much amplified if the path leading towards it is treacherous, and vice versa. If a person inherits his father's millions and leads an easy life, he is not a successful person even in material terms, because there are no difficulties involved in his achieving affluence. The term "success", to be sure. will not sit still for easy definition. But as I understand it, the true meaning of success entails a combination of both the process and the satisfactory result of an endeavor. To clarify my view, let me give another ogy.

If we changed the rules of football, greatly enlarged the goal and sent away David Seaman or any other goal keeper, so that another David, namely David Beckham, could score easily, then scoring would not give him the thrill of accomplishment and the joy that it brings. If we further changed the rules by not allowing Arsenal's defenders to defend, so that Beckham needed only to lift a finger, actually a toe, to score, then there would be no game at all, because the meaning of winning would have disappeared. In accepting the challenge, in surmounting the difficulties and in enduring the hardship, success acquires its value. The sense of attainment varies in proportion to the degree of difficulties on overcomes.

The concept of success is not constant but relative because the nature of difficulty is also relative. Something you do effortlessly might pose a great difficulty for a handicapped person. In acquiring the ability to do the same as you can, he or she achieve success. That's why we greatly admire Stephen Hawking, because, though confined to a wheel chair, he has contributed greatly to the field of science.

I myself, a rather shy person by nature who easily suffer from stage fright, had to pluck up great courage to take part in a speech contest like this. I could have stayed away and had an easy time of it by not entering the university level contest.But I chose to accept the challenge and to face the difficulties. Now here I am. If I come out first, it will be a great success for me. If I come out last-I hope this will not be the case-but if I come out last, I will not call my attempt a failure, but will also celebrate it as a true success, because part of my goal is my own character training-to do more assertive, to be brave in face of difficulties. For me, it is a meaningful step forward, all as it is, in the long journey toward the final success in my life, because I have truly gained by participating.

Let us return to our handsome young prince and the 4-step definition of success. ２００１年７月２７日 教育部颁布了《基础教育课程改革纲要》（试行），新一轮的课程改革开始在全国42个国家级实验区试行。其核心理念是：以学生发展为本。结合学科特点，力争全方位的落实科学素养教育，为学生的终身发展奠定基础。目标定位在知识与技能、过程与方法、情感、态度和价值观的新角度。这就要求老师们采取相应的教学策略：将知识和技能纬度的目标立足于让学生学会，将过程和方法纬度的目标立足于让学生会学，将情感、态度、价值观纬度的目标立足于让学生乐学。如何帮助学生完成由学会—会学—乐学的转变，这是检验课堂是否高效的重要标准。

同年，教育部又出台了《英语课程标准》。进一步明确了英语课程改革的重点，强调学生的学习兴趣、自信、生活经验和认知水平，倡导自主、合作、探究的学习方式，使语言学习的过程成为学生形成积极的情感态度、主动思维和大胆实践、提高跨文化意识和形成自主学习能力的过程。强调学生良好学习习惯的养成和有效学习策略的形成，更加关注对学生观察、记忆、思维、想象能力和创新精神的培养；为他们的终身学习和发展打下良好的基础。这一切的落实，主渠道还是在课堂。因此，提高课堂的效益和效率，既是提升英语教学质量的关键所在，也是英语新课程教学改革成功与否的关键所在。

为进一步规范中小学办学行为,减轻中小学生过重的课业负担,促进学生全面健康和谐发展和教师的专业发展,提升基础教育办学水平和质量, 20xx年，山东省教育厅在全省强力推行素质教育，颁布并实施了《山东省普通中小学管理基本规范（试行）》，对课程设置、课时等做了明确规定，特别是对学生的作息时间进行了严格控制。学生在校的学习时间减少，文化课教学时间压缩。。

在学科教学内容依旧，学生的在校时间减少，课时减少的情况下，要想保质保量的完成教学任务，只有在课堂的高效上下功夫。

20xx年5月，在全省强力推进素质教育的新形势下，市教研室在邹城及时召开了主题为“创新教学模式，构建高效课堂”的研讨会。会上，市教育局闫局长总结了我市开展构建高下课堂教学改革以来取得的成绩，我们学科有四个学校教学模式和方法介绍被收入会议经验材料汇编。我们这次研讨会就是全市研讨会在学科的进一步深化。

2、当前英语课堂教学中存在的问题

中考成绩和升学率承载着太多的社会压力，使得我们的教育部门或教育者自身急于求成，急功近利，从而使我们的课堂教学越来越偏离其教育的本质。反思我们的课堂教学，确实存在着一些低效、无效，甚至是负效的现象。归纳起来，具体表现在以下几方面：

1）笼统表述多，明晰表述少。

许多老师对教学目标的认识淡薄，理解模糊，教学目标表述过于笼统。如：“用英语谈论、描述动物并表达对动物的喜爱”；“学习……”；有的直接就是：“words：…;phrases…;…”等，缺乏可操作性，完全成了可有可无的摆设，失去了对教学的指导意义和对课堂的导、控作用，以致无法评价目标的达成度。我们知道，目标的达成度越高，课堂教学的效果就越好。

2）教师讲授多，学生实践少。

老师以“讲得多”“讲得好”为满足，“满堂灌”的现象依然普遍。总担心有哪一个知识点没讲到。不管学生会不会，老师认为该讲就讲，不关心学生的感受，不关注学生的'学得。很多时候，对一些所谓的重点，老师会不厌其烦地一遍遍的讲。实践证明：重复讲解学生已知的知识很容易引起学生的心理疲倦，造成课堂气氛沉闷，学习兴趣降低，从而使课堂教学低效，甚至无效。由于课堂上老师的讲解占用了大量的时间，学生只是被动的学习者，偶尔会参与一些枯燥、脱离实际的句型操练，没有足够的主动参与、体验、实践的机会和时间，学生学不会，各项技能得不到应有的训练和发展，课堂效率低。课堂的低效能导致学生厌学。

3）关注知识多，学法指导少。

“授之以鱼，不如授之以渔”这句话老师们再熟悉不过了。著名教育家陶行知说过，“与其把学生当天津鸭儿添入一些零碎知识，不如给他们几把锁匙，使他们可以自动去开发文化的金库和宇宙之宝藏。”……但在实际的课堂教学中，真正关注学生的学习策略，把知识的学习建立在学生实际的认知水平基础之上，在学习知识的过程中指导学生如何学习的老师有多少？课堂上，教学内容常以语音、词汇、语法为主线，老师关注的是知识点的讲解是否全面、到位。在指导对学生如何学会学习上关注少，做得少，有些老师不知道该怎样做。结果，学生只会被动地“接水”，不会主动地“取水”，造成课堂低效。

4）关注预设多，关注生成少。

课堂上，老师把注意力放在预设的教案上，即：按教案教（走教案）。衡量一节课是否高效，不是看教师有没有按预设完成教学内容，而是看学生有没有学到什么或学的好不好。看学生是否获得自己满意的学习效果和积极的学习体验。教案上有什么就教什么；教案上写的采用哪种活动形式就用哪种；时刻关注的是教学环节的推进，对学生在课堂上的表现视而不见。老师提出的问题是否按自己的意愿去回答，把学生纳入自己事先编织的框架。（鱼台实验的例子）在真实、常态的课堂教学中，我常常发现教师很多时候，老师所预设的问题本身就有问题，无效问题、假问题、无价值问题充斥课堂。如：为了练第三人称单数的一般疑问句，课堂上经常出现这样的情景：老师指着1男生问其他学生“is he a boy? ” （假交际）教师无效的提问耽误了学生宝贵的课堂学习时间，影响了课堂教学的效率。由于学生的情感、心理变化、对知识的掌握情况以及活动的形式是否符合学生的真实需要等方面受到忽视，必然影响学习情绪、学习行为和学习效果。

5） 活动形式多，实际收效少。

课堂活动形式往往花样很多，但效果往往不尽人意。问题比较突出的就是：小组合作学习。讨论过程、反馈，都只有少数尖子生参与、表现，大部分学生没有真正参与。突出学生的主体地位不是只突出尖子生的主体地位，课堂教学应面向全体（80%以上的学生）。

6）统一要求多，个性发展少。

教学目标的确立、问题的提出、活动的设计都缺乏针对性和有效性。整齐划一的练习和作业多，发展个性、分层选择的任务少。造成课堂效果的低效。

面对新的课改形势，一方面，我们高兴地看到：老师们正在创新教学模式，构建高校课堂方面进行着积极探索和实践。一些教学模式、教学方法、教学手段的创新和运用给英语课堂带来了新的生机和活力，为高效课堂的创建提供了宝贵的经验。如:

另一方面，我们还必须清醒面对当前英语教学中存在的这些影响课堂教学效益的问题。这些问题解决地越好，课堂教学的效益和效率就会越高，教学效果就会越好。

二、 高效课堂的内涵

高效课堂是建立在有效教学基础之上的。高效相对于“低效”而言。排除教学过程中存在的重复的低效的教学模式，力争以最短的课堂时间达到最高的课堂效果。简言之：师生用最短的时间获得最大的效率。

1、高效课堂的文学性概括：知识的超市、生命的狂欢！

b、三动：身（形）动、心（思维）动、神（思想）动

d、三特点：立体式、快节奏、大容量

f、减负：轻负担、高质量；低耗时、高效益

3、高效课堂的终极目标：

a、通过高效课堂走向高效学习，从而实现终身学习

b、素质教育的素质最主要的是“学习能力”：思维力、生成力、表达力（听、说、读、写）

c、实现学生的解放、教师的解放、学校的解放

三、高效课堂对教师的要求

教师要成为“三者”：促进者、学习者、决定者

1、首先要完成角色的转换，教师由传授者变成学生学习的促进者，做学生成长的推手。

2、实现教学相长，教师还应该成为学习者，与学生一起“同学”，我们常讲，教师上课也是“上学”，教书也是“进修”。

3、一节高效课，它是由教师和学生合力打造而成的，这其中教师的作用是不容忽视的。尽管教师不再是教学中的主角，但他毕竟是“平等中的首席”，因此，教师决定着一节课能否成为优质课、高效课，也就是说，优秀的教师才能上出高效课，责任心不强的教师只能上出低效课来。所谓教师的“决定者”，还因为存在着这样的事实：有什么样的教师就有什么样的课堂，有什么样的课堂就有什么样的教育，有什么样的教育。

一、注重预习。

“预习”是一种良好的学习习惯，是课堂教学中的重要环节。它作为学习过程的起始阶段，是培养学生自学能力的重要途径，在提高学习效率方面有着重要的作用。它不仅能帮学生“学会”知识，更能帮助学生“会学”知识。做好预习工作，功在课外，利在课内。我们有以下几个环节：

1、布置预习作业。

在寒暑假来临之前，学校要求每位教师给学生特别布置假期预习作业。为了使预习有章可循，教师列出预习提纲，分发给每个学生。针对预习内容，教师必须提出明确的预习要求。而且预习要求必须合理，正确，有可操作性。我们给学生布置了预习前三单元的内容，具体到哪一天预习哪几页单词，背会哪部分对话，掌握哪几个句型，理解哪项语法内容。此外，每日摘抄一句英语谚语，两天一篇阅读理解，五天一篇英语练笔（小作文）。

2、指导预习方法。

针对不同的教学内容指导学生选用合适的预习方法，通过查阅资料、听录音带、网络学习、向哥哥姐姐求教等多种方法来学习。例如：会话练习可以采用查一查，补一补，说一说的方法；句型练习可以采用找一找，归一归，比一比的方法；阅读练习可以采用划一划，查一查，写一写的方法。我们知道“授之一鱼，只供一餐，授之以渔，可享一生。”只要坚持运用科学的方法培养学生的预习习惯，学生们一定会学会预习，运用预习，学会学习，为他们的终身学习奠下良好的基础．

3、争取得到家长的配合。

为了学生在假期期间更好地完成预习作业，使预习作业更有成效，我们学校在放假前特意召开了家长会，把学校的想法、做法与家长们沟通交流，期望家长能做好督促检查工作。事实证明，我们得到了很多家长的配合。

4、检查预习效果。

检查学生预习是否到位，存在有哪些问题，以便今后教学做到有的放矢。开学的第二天，我们学校就组织了各科的预习考试。成绩上报学校，并作出效果分析。由于我们英语学科的特点，初二学生在预习单词和每单元的语法聚焦两方面比较好，但知识点和句型的灵活运用还有待提高。

二、抓好教研组建设。

学校是一个大群体，而教研组是一个小群体，教师是这个群体中的成员，我们每位教师的成长与发展都离不开这个群体。我校在抓教研组建设方面工作做得扎实，有条不紊，为每位教师的发展搭建了平台。积极开展教研组的说、上、评课活动，要求人人过关。紧紧围绕教研组的活动专题，重视对学生学习习惯培养的研究，和对学生自主学习意识培养的研究。通过教研活动，使本教研组全体英语教师共同提高，人人受益。也让我感受到了集体的力量是无穷的，实现了教师之间，同伴之间的团结协作。一个人有困难时，大家都来帮助，让她从困境中走出，不断发展自己，提高自己，身处在这样一个教师群体中，我深感荣幸。

三、加强备课组的集体备课。

集体备课是发挥群体优势，提高备课质量的重要途径，也是落实教学常规，提高课堂教学效率的必要措施。我校很重视英语教研，特别安排了主抓教学的刘校长下组监督指导，使活动有计划、有目标、有实效。我们英语备课组的三位教师积极组织集体备课，研究教学内容，研究学生，进度，研究教学方法，安排及教学资料做到一致。我们每周至少活动一次，时间固定，有活动记录。每次活动都定有中心发言人，定活动的主题，不走形式，不敷衍了事，切实解决教学中的一些问题，努力提高课堂教学质量，完善教学，规范我们的教学行为，向课堂40分钟要质量。

四、培养学生自主探究学习的'能力。

本学年我们学校一直倡导培养学生自主探究学习的能力。要求教学要以学生为主体，转变角色，成为学生学习的引导者、帮助者。在课堂中要求教师要“少讲多学”，即教师少讲，学生多学。坚持放手原则：凡是学生能读的就让学生读，凡是学生能说的就让学生说，凡是学生能想的就让学生想，凡是学生能讨论的就让学生讨论，凡是学生能写的就让学生写，凡是学生能做的就让学生做。给学生自学时间、提问时间、读书时间和练习时间。在教学中，我们鼓励学生尝试地交流、讨论、质疑、解惑；把问的权利交给学生，把讲的机会让给学生，让学生参与到知识形成的过程中，并从中感受到“参与之乐，思维之趣，成功之悦”。

我们知道“学源于思，思源于疑”，学生探索知识的思维过程总是从问题开始，又在解决问题中得到发展。教学过程中学生如果能在教师创设的情境下，自己动脑思考，动口表达，将受益匪浅。我们的做法是首先创设情境、明确目标，其次呈现问题、启发诱导，然后让学生先自主探究、设疑质疑，再合作探究、解惑释疑，最后对学生的活动加以评价，使学生活动的过程更规范化，在活动中该做什么，而不该做什么，逐步渗透到学生的脑海里。每节课尽可能给予学生自主学习的时间和空间，让他们自主学习，培养他们敢疑、敢想、敢问、敢说的良好学习习惯，提高他们的思维能力，真正使学生好学、乐学、会学，从而形成一种生动活泼轻松的学习局面。

尽管以往的教育教学工作取得了一些进步，得到了领导和家长们的认可，学生的学习方法，学习习惯和自主学习能力有了一定提高，一部分学生的学习兴趣也得以巩固和加强。但是，客观地分析了学生的成绩的各个方面，我深深地感觉到自身工作中还存在许多不足。例如：学生成绩的两极分化现象；相当一部分学生的英语学习兴趣还有待于进一步的保鲜和巩固；一些学生的基本学习习惯、方法和技能都需要在今后的工作中加强指导。另外，回首自身教学工作的各个方面，在常规教学的备课方面还存在不足，讲课方面也还不够灵活机动。以后的教学工作将带着这些问题有针对性地开展。

It means any long-term significant change in the average weather, which may include average temperature, precipitation, wind patterns and so on. For example, Australia is experiencing rapid climate change. Since the middle of the twentieth century, Australian temperatures have risen by about average one temperature degree with an increase in the frequency of heat waves and a decrease in the numbers of frosts and cold days. Rainfall patterns have also changed, which means that the northwest has seen an increase in rainfall over the last fifty years while much of eastern Australia and the far southwest have experienced a decline. From this example, it indicates climate change that is occurring today has sped up, and affects long-term weather. The Earth’s climate is largely affected by how much heat is stored in the atmosphere. Furthermore, the climate change is caused by dynamic process on Earth, external forces including variations in sunlight intensity, and more recently by human activities. The most important reason of climate change is caused by humans, because humans produce a lot of carbon dioxide into the air. This carbon dioxide emits from fossil fuel, aerosols, cement manufacture, land use, animal agriculture and deforestation. For example, trees can take in carbon dioxide to produce oxygen by photosynthesis. If people cut many trees for making furniture, paper, or sell wood to make money, there is much more carbon dioxide in the air. Beginning with the industrial revolution in the nineteenth century and accelerating ever since, the human consumption of fossil fuels has raised carbon dioxide levels rapidly. It means that carbon dioxide levels are substantially higher now than before. On the other hand, during the procedure of manufacturing cement, which is used in buildings, significantly more carbon dioxide is produced. While people improve their living standard, they cause climate change. When people burn coal, oil, and gas for our electricity, carbon dioxide is produced. When people burn fossil fuel to move vehicles, carbon dioxide is also produced. These sorts of examples indicate that humans are the real culprit. They do not consider the consequence, while they enjoy producing every thing they want. It is not just man-made pollution of the atmosphere which can cause climate change. Changes in the amount of carbon dioxide in the air have occurred naturally during the history of the Earth, leading to climate changes. When a volcano erupts, it releases huge amounts of carbon dioxide and sulfur dioxide into the atmosphere. However, volcano eruptions cannot effect climate change. The main reason is that before the volcano erupts, it would release huge amount of carbon dioxide and sulfur dioxide for a very long time. This pollution injected into the air blocks out a lot of sunlight. Therefore, it can cause the Earth to cool over fewer years. For example, in April 1991 eruption of Mount Pinatoba, where is in the Philippine islands, emitted huge amounts of carbon dioxide and sulfur dioxide into the air. The movement of the Earth’s axis also affects climate change; it moves a little more than a half-degree each century. Other processes can change the Earth’s climate over millions of years. When not only continents move around the world, but also mountains ranges are built, the changing patterns of landmasses affect the way the heat in the atmosphere and in the oceans is stored. In addition, changes in the way ocean water circulates around the world can affect the climate, because the oceans store even more heat than the atmosphere. Once ocean currents change direction, slow down, or reverse, it has a significant impact on climate. Climate change is mainly caused by carbon dioxide. This can be separated to two important parts: natural causes, and human causes. After we realise what the two important factors of climate change are, and what the climate change is, we could try to think of a more effective solution to solve the climate change problem to make a higher quality environment.

Now if you are the kind of person who thinks listening to music is fun and you spend many hours alone tap tap tapping your fingers and your toes to the beat, why not take it one step further and get up on your feet and dance, dance, dance.

Or maybe you’re the type of person who prefers being with your friends. There are many ways one could have fun with their pals. For instance you could just hang out and do nothing or better yet you could get into a friendly game of basketball or football there is no rule that says everyone has to be as good as Yao Ming or David Beckham, right?

However sometimes there just aren’t enough players, or you may even be alone in which case you could go for a ride on your bike, maybe, stop by the library to borrow a book, or go for a walk around the park and enjoy the sunshine and scenery. Before you know it, you’re having fun.

Let’s face it, exercise is work and when we think of work we think of thankless underpaid hardships yet it needn’t be this way, if we think of exercise as fun.

World Expos have excited and inspired more and more people in the world.

On December3, 20xx, the Bureau of International Expositions (or call it BIE) announced that Shanghai will host Expo20xx. the BIE had received bids from five cities to host Expo20xx .Among the 5 nice cities, the BIE chose Shanghai at last! It’s really an exciting news for not only Shanghainese, but also all of Chinese people. Here are some details about it.

Look at this profile carefully. The title is “The 20xx World Exposition ,Shanghai, China ”. this is the logo.

And the theme is “better city., better life”.OK, let’s guess who is the image representative? Yeah, you’re right, Yao Ming!

Shanghai Expo is the first comprehensive World Expo held in a developing country. And it is also the first one that takes “the city” as its theme, hoping that it can push forward the city development and help bring about a better urban living environment, just like the theme: better city, better life.

I think, as a student in Shanghai, we should learn to be a gentle person and keep good manners from now on. And try to practice English more in order to communicate with foreigners fluently in the near future. Because, we’re a part of Shanghai!

Having fun

When having to make a choice most people think they have to choose between the two. Far too often people go for the latter and naturally choose fun. For instance many people would prefer watching television, or more commonly known as TV to exercising, we all know that it’s true, right? The problem is, if you don’t exercise you will become weak and ultimately out of shape and it is no fun to be out of shape, right? So the question is, why not turn exercise into fun?

As an example, if TV is your favorite thing to do, why not connect your TV set to an electric generator that is charged by a stationary bike, you know, the kind of bike you peddle, that doesn’t go anywhere. So think about it, the more you watch TV, the fitter you’ll be.

Now if you are the kind of person who thinks listening to music is fun and you spend many hours alone tap tap tapping your fingers and your toes to the beat, why not take it one step further and get up on your feet and dance, dance, dance.

Or maybe you’re the type of person who prefers being with your friends. There are many ways one could have fun with their pals. For instance you could just hang out and do nothing or better yet you could get into a friendly game of basketball or football there is no rule that says everyone has to be as good as Yao Ming or David Beckham, right?

However sometimes there just aren’t enough players, or you may even be alone in which case you could go for a ride on your bike, maybe, stop by the library to borrow a book, or go for a walk around the park and enjoy the sunshine and scenery. Before you know it, you’re having fun.

Let’s face it, exercise is work and when we think of work we think of thankless underpaid hardships yet it needn’t be this way, if we think of exercise as fun.

当我张开嘴让他们跟着我念单词时又有同学举手提议：“老师，我们今天学唱英文歌吧！我们能自己跟着磁带学，那样你的嗓子会好得快些，妈妈说嗓子哑了要少说话！”多懂事的孩子，只知他们平时爱惹我生气，不知他们竟也知道关心我！下课了，孩子们硬要把剥好的橘子塞进我的嘴里，说：“老师吃了它吧！吃了你的嗓子就会好了！”在那一刻我感受到了三十多颗幼小的心灵对我的抚慰，感受到了他们对我的.理解和支持，作为一名幼儿教师我心甘情愿了！

去年十二月，我要教四个班的英语、要忙于迎接期末考试、要为教师文艺汇演紧张地排练、要为圣诞节英语晚会准备初中七年级的英语节目。初中生懂的英语比较少，我没法将台词写下来让他们自己去背，只能嘴对嘴的一字一词地教。紧张的排练和不定时的加班几乎压垮了我，我真想甩手不干了。

有一天几遍排练下来后孩子们已经练得气喘吁吁了，我说：“你们累了，就早点休息吧！”可是没有一个孩子离开我，他们围在我身边仰着小脸恳切地说：“老师，咱们再练一会儿吧！我们不累！真的，我们不怕累！”看着孩子们汗津津的小脸，我突然感到自己是那么的软弱。我说，你们不怕，老师也不怕，咱们一起练。排练结束后，我和孩子们一起笑着闹着，心里感受到一种从未有过的轻松，我知道是孩子们帮助了我，鼓舞了我。当我在台下看着他们成功的表演时，泪水再也忍不住地流了下来，作为一名人民教师爱的奉献是无尽的。
